My parents owned a Nikon SRL back in the 80s.  Not sure of the make as this was 30+ years ago now.  We had a young, budding meth addict in the family.  One day our home was burglarized with no signs of forced entry.  The camera was taken from the living room where I had left it after my photography class.  I couldn't afford to replace it and wouldn't own another camera for decades. Someone gave me a Cannon Powershot as a gift.  I've forgotten the model but I didn't use it much at first but it soon worked it's way into regular use.  This camera had a manufacture defect that was triggered by high humidity but it had never caused a problem beca
